Futaba 8FG software update

Futaba have released the software version 5.0 for the 8FG and 8FG Super transmitter. The software will turn the standard 8FG into a 8FG Super with the latter also benefiting from the updated varian. Incorporated are changes to the airplane, glider and helicopter menus. Click here for a supplement manual and/or download the v5.0 software from Futaba’s download section here.

Hyperion UMX harnesses
Hyperion have released special wires for Horizon Hobby UMX plane users. The Serialisation cable combines two 1S UM packs into one 2S UMX battery assembly so there is no need to upgrade to 2S batteries in case you already own numerous Ultra Micro compatible packs. Also available is a UMS 2S pack-side cable with 150mm long wires to convert any suitable 2S battery to fit the UMX planes. Last but not least Hyperion also offers sS UMX standard charging harnesses and also types for Hyperion EOS 6S-per-port and 7S-per-port chargers.

Gens ace 6S 25C & 30C LiPo packs
Gens ace release new 6S LiPo battery packs in the form of the 5300mAh 30C 6S1P and the 3300mAh 25C 6S1P offering. Both 22.2V batteries are usable in airplane and helicopter models, are covered in genuine Oracover shrink, are 1 to 3S chargeable and come with JST-XH balancer plug. The 5300mAh pack sports dimensions of 138x41x62mm while the 3300mAh pack measures 137x42x45mm.

Pichler Boost 180 brushless motor
Pichler have released the Boost 180 brushless outrunner motor, the largest and strongest in the Boost line so far. Sporting dimensions of 80x78mm, a weight of 1150g, and a 28-pole design the motor is designed for 3D airplane models up to 8kg, aerobatic models of up to 12kg and sport/trainer models up of to 16kg of weight. Features include a 10mm prop cam, oversized ball bearings and a 4-point motor mount.

Graupner Starlet electric plane

The Graupner Starlet is a semiscale ARF electric airplane and resembles a 1980′s experimental ultra light plane. The original was designed for a 4 cylinder boxer engine with the 900mm replica is best powered by a 2S LiPo battery. The plane sports a light weight foil-covered balsa/plywood construction, comes with pre-bend landing gear, fibre glass moulded motor cowl and all needed hardware such as linkages.

Yuki Model electric gliders get upgrade
CN Development & Media announce that their current line of electric gliders will from now on come with genuine Hobbywing brushless controllers. The ASW17 and MDM-1 Fox come equipped with the SkyWalker 20A controller while the Blaze hotline model will come factory-equipped with a SkyWalker 40A ESC. The recommended retail prices for all three foam kits will remain the same.
