Toy Fair 2012 – Ely.Q
Ely.Q have recently underwent a reorganisation of the company that now comes to life as a joint venture of Italy-based QBell and New Heading, Ely.Q’s longterm distributor. First sign of the restructure is the newly introduced Momentum line of sport scale products such as a Hughes-style canopy for 600 and 700-class helis as well as new three, four and five blade rotor heads that will become available in natural and anodised colours.
Also on show is the Vision 30 electric helicopter that is based on the Vision 50e and sports shorter main rotor blades and a shorter tail boom to create a 30-size mid-size electric heli. Many parts of the larger V50e will fit such as the canopy – as you can see – and other parts.
Ely.Q also had the new Scorpion Commander V 90A and 130A SBEC electric brushless controller on show. The ESCs are useable with up to 12S LiPo battery setups, feature a 5V to 7V SBEC for power-hungry applications, external governor mode and gold anodised highly-ribbed heatsink casings. An even more powerful 14S 180A SBEC controller is in the making and will be released sometime this year.
Hyperion showed a multi-port adapter board for 1S Ultra Micro battery packs that is useable with all sorts of LiPo chargers and that comes prewired with 4mm connectors. Also made for UM series batteries is the V-harness that couples two 1S pack to create a 2S pack for higher voltage and more performance. Last in the line of new products are the Hyperion CS G2 LiPo Power Packs build from 25C cells and coming in 2S configuration with 180Ah and 240mAh capacity.
